Movie Discussion Guide

1.Some human rights issues are child prostitution, and the right to an education.

2. They look down on these images because most of them know that is what they are soon destined for and it is almost inevitable. This just goes to show how unfair it is for these children in these foreign countries.

3.They were alot happier and acted more as children.

4. I believe as change comes in time they could potentially learn to forget and move on. But some may not be able to forget.

5. I believe that as a children it is very easy for them to get accustomed to a certain lifestyle in a sense where it is normal and they don’t realize that it is bad for them to grow up like that. the problem is that the whole population has been following these set of rules that it is a cultural thing and when the cultures are set to these standards nobody is going to tell these children otherwise of their actions.

6. She became so involved with them because she wanted to learn about their culture and how these children were growing up, nut also wanted to help them in a way. What kept her going is her knowing that they don’t have the same opportunities as other kids do in other countries so she wanted to help them.

7.This provides them the opportunity to capture their own moments and memories because without her these children would probably never be able to. They also sell the photos raising money for them to get out of these brothels.

8.What it means to have a right to an education is straight forward. Everyone has a right to equal opportunity because people typically need an education to get somewhere in life especially if they are from foreign countries. These children face so many challenges such as their families nit wanting them to get an education and them having to work at such young ages and not having the money either. The possibility of H.I.V should not affect ypur education because it is a disease. It would be unjust for schools to not accept you because of a disease that these kids pretty much had no choice whether or not they would get it or not.Economic or social status should definitely not affect education either. And in the end being the child of a sex worker should not affect that right either because a parents choices should mot affect their children’s futures.

Elements of design

UNITY: unity occurs when all of the elements of a piece combine to make a balanced, harmonious, complete whole.

VARIETY: combining the art elements to stress the differences between those elements and to create one or more centers of interest in a work of art. Often, contrasting elements are used to direct and focus attention on the most important parts of the composition.

RHYTHM&MOVEMENT: Rhythm & Pattern. … These repeated photographic elements will create a type of unity and structure to your photography. By finding a pattern in lines, shapes or colors you can easily add rhythm to your photographs that the human eye will easily follow.

REPETITION: a way to grab the attention of your audience and draw them into the image. Repeating a shape throughout your photo gives you instant composition and can say a lot about your subject.

PROPORTION/SCALE: Proportion refers to the relative size and scale of the various elements in a design. The issue is the relationship between objects, or parts, of a whole.IMG_6527

EMPHASIS: Emphasis is defined as an area or object within the artwork that draws attention and becomes a focal point. Subordination is defined as minimizing or toning down other compositional elements in order to bring attention to the focal point.

BALANCE: Balance is a compositional technique in photography that juxtaposes images within a frame so that the objects are of equal visual weight.

LINE: A very powerful method of improving the composition of photos is the use of lines.

VALUE: As an element of art, value refers to the visible lightness or darkness of a color.

FORM: There are many elements of composition that form the building blocks of photography: lines, shape, form, texture, pattern, and the rule of thirds, just to name a few. Each of these elements plays a role in drawing the viewer’s eye into the photo.

SHAPE: Shapes exist in nature and we see these high contrast areas defined as lines.IMG_0762

SPACE: Put simply, it is the space around the object itself that helps define the positive space IMG_0818

COLOR: The definition of color is a component of light which is separated when it is reflected off of an object.

TEXTURE:When talking about photography texture refers to the visual quality of the surface of an object, revealed through variances in shape, tone and color depth.IMG_0772
